How it works
The Humane Mouse Trap. Four simple steps.
Load
Place a small amount of bait at the rear of the trap. Peanut butter, chocolate or nesting material works best.
Set
Pull the entry door back until it clicks into position. The trap is now armed and ready.
Position
Place the trap against a wall or skirting board with the entrance facing the wall. Mice naturally run along edges.
Release
Check twice daily. Once caught, carry outside and release the mouse at least 200 metres from home.

FAQ
What bait works best?
Peanut butter is the reliable favourite — a pea-sized amount is plenty. Chocolate spread, seeds or a little nesting material also work well. Avoid cheese; it dries out quickly and mice are less drawn to it than folklore suggests.
How often should I check the trap?
At least twice a day — morning and evening. A caught mouse should never wait longer than a few hours. If you're away overnight, unset the trap so nothing is caught while you're gone.
Where should I place it?
Flush against a wall or skirting board, entrance facing the wall, in places you've seen droppings or activity — behind the bin, under the sink, along the kitchen skirting. Mice hug edges and rarely cross open floor.
What if the door won't set?
Make sure the trap is on a flat surface and the door is pulled fully back until you hear the click. If it still won't hold, check nothing is lodged in the door track and rinse the mechanism with warm water — a little debris is usually the culprit.
Where do I release a caught mouse?
Carry the trap outside, calmly and level, and release at least 200 metres from your home — a park, green space or hedgerow is ideal. Open the door facing away from you and give the mouse a moment to leave on its own.
Can I use it outdoors?
The Humane Mouse Trap is designed for indoor use. It can be used in sheltered spots like garages and sheds, but avoid rain and direct sun — and check even more frequently, as temperature changes are harder on a caught mouse outdoors.
